Teacher's text for teaching independent decoding and spelling to intermediate, secondary, and adult students. It is based on building an internal sound/symbol organizational chart that takes students through the seven syllables of our language and builds a strong understanding of dictionary skills. The text focuses on vocabulary with an emphasis on synonyms and antonyms. Each unit of study directly instructs on a specific skill embedded in polysyllabic vocabulary. It also contains student practice activities and a section on the history of written language. The Bonnie Kline Volumes 2 and 3 transfers the skills to text in both narrative and expository with a heavier emphasis on expository text. The Linguistics Guide bridges to the Spelling Guide which extends sound/symbol relationship, grapheme origin, and elevated vocabulary.
