The letters of the alphabet are taught through direct instruction. The students are taught four basic strokes. These four strokes are taught through visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile techniques. Each stroke is said out loud while tactilely following the arrows for directionality. The felt paper sheets are sewn to represent primary paper. As students trace the letter image with their finger on the felt paper, they feel the upper, mid, and lower lines for placement and directionality.
