
Victoria (Tori) E. Greene
Died December 9, 2022 at the age of 87. Born Victoria Sbrocco in Des Moines, Iowa on May 18, 1935. She graduated high school from St. Joseph’s Academy and attended Clarke University. Later, she received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota. She began her teaching career in Tacoma, Washington and retired from Bloomington Public Schools in Minnesota. Tori married Bob Greene and together they raised their son, John Greene.
Tori dedicated over five decades of her life promoting the mission to improve student literacy, first as a classroom teacher, then as a Language Arts Curriculum Author. Together with Dr. Mary Lee Enfield, Victoria owned and operated Language Circle Enterprises which provided Project Read curriculum to school districts across the U.S and beyond. She has left an indelible imprint on the lives of countless people. Tori’s legacy will continue to live on as students in classrooms across the country today are taught reading, writing, and reading comprehension with the Project Read curriculum.
Tori relied on her strong Catholic faith as a foundation of her life. Victoria is survived by son, John Greene, sister Joann Walker, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by husband, John Robert (Bob) Greene, parents Urban and Stella Sbrocco, and brother Michael Sbrocco.
Mass of Christian Burial Friday, December 16th 11AM at St. Edward’s Catholic Church 2401 Nesbit Ave S, Bloomington. Rosary at 9:30 am. Visitation at 10:00 am.
